Iranian Majlis National Security Committee member Javad Jahangirzadeh has called on the Iranian regime to have Interpol return U.S. citizen Sarah Shourd to Iran to stand trial for espionage.
Tehran prosecutor-general Abbas Jafari-Dolatabadi said that if Shourd does not show up for trial, the regime will redeem the half-million dollar bail posted for her September release – a release that was for humanitarian reasons.
Shourd is one of three American hikers arrested by Iran in July 2009 near the Iran-Iraq border, who are being accused of espionage against Iran.
